Civil War Round Table in December

Civil War Round Table in December

Hello Readers! I’ve been invited to speak at the Driftless Region Civil War Round Table! The Driftless Region is a fascinating area from basically the west of Monroe, WI to the Mississippi River and was the region through which Wisconsin was originally settled. If you’re looking for some early history— natural, smuggling, mining or Freemasonry, pretty much anything— the Driftless Region is a good place to find it.

My talk will be on Saturday, December 19 at 1 P.M. at the Odd Fellows Lodge in Mineral Point:

112 Front Street, Mineral Point, WI

Mineral Point isn’t too far from where the Lincoln’s Counterfeiters action took place, but would have been a much more developed town than Monroe in the 1860s. (In fact, regional bigwigs like Lincoln’s supporter William Tallman built his mansion in Janesville to face Mineral Point, so that travelers from that road would be suitably impressed.)

See you in Mineral Point!!
