A BLAST!! Chicago Macy's State Street Book Signing

A BLAST!! Chicago Macy's State Street Book Signing

September 7th Update!

Great day yesterday at Macy’s in Chicago! The State Street location was the original site of Marshall Field’s Department Store. Marshall Field was the protege of Potter Palmer and both were (allegedly) friends with Monroe, WI’s Arabut Ludlow. Read why that matters to the nation in Lincoln’s Counterfeiters, now available at Barbara’s Bookstore/Macy’s State Street and at the Toy Haus in Monroe, too!!

Macy’s department store now occupies the Marshall Field’s building. Our book signing was, fittingly, in the underworld basement of this opulent building.

… from where Barbara’s Bookstore kindly set me up with my own Lincoln’s Counterfeiters exhibit!!

I met a lot of interesting people including professional tour guide Joel Freedman who has a passionate interest in Chicago’s Gilded Age history… check him out when you’re in town!

It is amazing how many Chicagoans are history buffs. Between them, the downtown architecture, and being able to talk about Lincoln’s Counterfeiters for hours, I had a day that left me like this——> Thank You Chicago!!! And an extra big thank you to Chris Mahin and the team of Barbara’s Bookstores!!

Hello All!

So this coming Saturday, September 6, I will be signing books at Barbara’s Bookstore in the basement of Macy’s on State Street in Chicago. I will be there from 2 PM to 3 PM. This location is the beating heart of most of the post-1871 action in Lincoln’s Counterfeiters, so it’s a nice place to launch the book. Hope to see you there!
