East Dubuque District Library! Feb 24, 6 P.M.!

“Lincoln’s Counterfeiters” is appearing at the East Dubuque District Library this coming Tuesday! Please come and join us: it’ll be about an hour long, half me talking, half Q&A.

Wisconsin was actually settled from the Southwest eastward, so my East Dubuque, IL locale appearance will be in one of the oldest continuously-settled communities in the area. You’ll notice on the map below that the city nestles at the corner where Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin meet.

The city is also a key stop on the Mississippi River, which was an important distribution channel for Lincoln’s counterfeiting gang in Monroe, WI. See you there!
